Food Bank 101: A Tour
Join us for a tour to learn more about Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and who we serve! This is a great opportunity for schools, scout troops, civic or faith-based groups, and businesses to learn more about what we do and see how food moves through our food bank to those in need.

Thursday, February 11th
Whole Foods Market 5% Day -- All Day
Take the lead in the fight again hunger! Shop at Whole Foods Market in Tustin on Thursday, February 11th and Whole Foods Market will donate 5% of the store net sales to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
Each $1 donated will provide 3 meals to those at risk of hunger right here in Orange County.

Polly’s Pies Restaurant Promotion – Huntington Beach
Polly’s Pies of Huntington Beach is supporting Second Harvest Food Bank with a special all-day promotion! Download the promotional flyer and present it to your Polly’s server anytime on Friday, February 19. Polly’s will then donate 20% of the proceeds from your bill to the Food Bank! Every $1 donated provides 3 meals to those at risk of hunger, so even a $10 meal can provide 6 meals to a neighbor in need!

Anaheim Citywide Food Drive
The City of Anaheim will rally residents, local businesses, schools, churches and service clubs to collect non-perishable food items for the city’s ninth annual month-long food drive to benefit the Food Bank. You can donate food at drop locations in local police stations, community centers, libraries and other public city facilities.

Curves Food Drive
Curves Fitness Centers team up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County for their eighth Annual Food Drive. Curves locations will accept non-perishable food items during the month with a special collection day TBA.

April 2010
Pennies & Peanut Butter Food Drive
Local elementary and middle school students participate in this food drive by collecting pennies, peanut butter and other non-perishable food to donate to the Food Bank. The food drive promotes hunger awareness among young people in Orange County.

TRADER JOE’S Hits that Help
Trader Joe’s Hits that Help is a promotional partnership between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Trader Joe’s and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. For every double the Angels hit during the 2010 MLB season, Trader Joe’s will make a donation of $75 – the equivalent of 225 meals – to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Stamp Out Hunger – National Assn. of Letter Carriers Food Drive
In its 18th year, this largest food drive in the nation helps the Food Bank stay stocked during the summer months when donations of food are usually at their lowest. Mail carriers around the county participate by picking up non-perishable food, which residents leave by their mailboxes.

The STARS of Santa Barbara at South Coast Plaza
The STARS of Santa Barbara at South Coast Plaza, Wednesday, June 9th from 6:30-9:30pm in the Garden Terrace at South Coast Plaza. All proceeds will directly benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The STARS of Santa Barbara at South Coast Plaza will offer a one-of-a-kind silent auction, delicious cuisine from South Coast Plaza’s top award-winning restaurants and wine selections from Santa Barbara’s finest wineries. This event will appeal to food and wine enthusiasts with a sommelier’s palate.

Take a Swing Against Hunger Golf Tournament, Silent & Live Auctions
The 26th Annual Take a Swing Against Hunger Golf Tournament will take place at the beautiful Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. Golfers will receive a complimentary lunch and dinner the day of the tournament and a host of great gifts. Golfer prizes, silent and live auctions, and an opportunity drawing will also be featured.

June 25-27, 2010
Angels Canned Food Drive
The Angels major league baseball team will hold their annual canned food drive at Angel Stadium of Anaheim to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County during the Angels/Rockies series in June. Collection bins will be available at Gates 1, 4 and the Home Plate Gate each day through the third inning. Fans who make a food donation will receive a special Angels team photo and fans that bring 10 or more cans will be entered into a drawing to win Angels memorabilia.
