Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, empowering individuals to come together to help their communities. In Orange County, more than 290,000 people are at risk of hunger, including 1 in 6 children.
We are outperforming our meal distribution goals and are currently on a 30-million-meals-per-year pace, increasing the amount of food, especially nutritious, perishable foods, that we are distributing to Orange County’s food insecure residents. Unfortunately, we are also having to turn away more perishable donations due to a lack of sufficient cold storage space. An addition of 3,700 square feet of cold storage space will enable us to rescue more perishable foods to feed more people. Your Giving Tuesday donation for our Cold Storage Fund – in any amount – will help us erase hunger in OC .
