We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Legacy Awards paying tribute to two pioneers in
Orange County for their hunger-relief efforts.
Mark served on the Second Harvest Food Bank Board of Directors for 13 years and has been serving as an Advisory Board Member for three years. Currently he is the President, CEO and Managing Partner of Straub Distributing, a beverage distribution company serving Orange County and a portion of Riverside County California.
Mark received an MBA degree from Columbia University in New York City specializing in Marketing. He was employed by Anheuser-Busch Company Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri for 24 years where he held a number of positions primarily in Sales, including Vice President of Region Sales in Chicago, Vice President of National Retail Sales, and Vice President of Business Development. Prior to leaving Anheuser-Busch, Mark served as Vice President and General Manager of Continental Europe headquartered in Paris, France where he was responsible for over 50 countries and territories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mark and his wife Ann live in Newport Beach and have 3 children.
Mark served on the Second Harvest Food Bank Board of Directors for more than 10 years and has been serving as the Advisory Board Chair for four years. Wetterau offered the food bank more than six months of skilled-based volunteer efforts from some of Golden State Foods leadership to assist the food bank with strategic planning and supply chain maximization. He was instrumental in helping to launch and support the capital campaign for the food bank’s distribution center, securing over $8 million in donations and in-kind services. Due to his leadership, we are able to operate in a building which helps us successfully distribute over 25.1 million meals per year and accommodate approximately 26,000 volunteers to help feed those in need.
The two are like-minded in business and philanthropy, understanding the importance of giving back to the community. They are passionate about leaving a legacy and setting an example for rising, young business leaders in the community resulting in the creation of the Associates Board. The two men have been instrumental in shaping the Associates Board and mentoring the 17 emerging leaders who sit on the Associates Board.
We are grateful for their dedication and support to further our mission of ending hunger in Orange County. They will be honored at the 2019 Second Harvest Food Bank Golf Tournament Invitational on Sunday, May 19, 2019 held at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point.
