Virtual Advocacy Volunteers

What it is

Volunteer from home or wherever you are! Join us on social media to raise awareness and critical funds for Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County! Amplify our message by sharing on your social media channels!

Why it matters

By sharing SHFB on social media, you’re providing additional exposure for your local food bank which, in turn, helps us raise the critical funds we require to continue providing food to the more than 550,000 food-insecure individuals in Orange County.

How-To-Help

September is Hunger Action Month and September 10th is Hunger Action Day! On Hunger Action Day our community will begin sharing content (provided by SHFB) on their social media channels to bring awareness to hunger and food insecurity in Orange County!

Additionally, we encourage our volunteers to host Virtual Food Drives to join us in raising critical funds for food purchases.

Social Media Toolkit

Second Harvest’s Volunteer Engagement Team will provide you with a Social Media Toolkit, complete with graphics, captions, statistics, images, and hashtags, making it easy to share our message and our mission with your network of friends, family, colleagues, and everyone in between!

Platforms

You are welcome to share our message on any social media platform you choose! Just be sure to tag SHFB and use our hashtags!
